Managing Director

£150,000 to £200,000 / Durham / Mar 15, 2019

Our client is a UK manufacturer of high quality branded consumer goods which, due to forthcoming expansion, wishes to appoint a Managing Director to lead growth in the UK and internationally (currently Europe and US focussed).  This profitable company has been established for approaching 50 years with revenues of c.£20m, and identifies four sales channels for its three main product lines – direct to consumer, corporate, major retail and independent retail.
 
In the Managing Director position, with an initial focus on new business development, ensuring growth of turnover, profit, market share and brand, you will:
 
• Report to the Chair and board, creating and delivering a five year plan to secure agreed growth
• Implement and develop Sales and Marketing aspects of this vibrant, entrepreneurial organisation
• Lead and work closely with the senior management team
• Take full P&L responsibility ensuring all business key performance indicators are achieved and continuous improvement implemented

As Managing Director you will be:
 
• Commercially astute, working at a senior level and with a proven record of achievement as Managing Director in a similar, multi-channel Sales-oriented leadership role – eg Managing Director, Sales Director, Business Development or Commercial Director. 
• Experience in branded consumer goods potentially advantageous
• A natural leader and first class communicator, ambitious with high energy levels and capable of shaping this highly respected business to meet market demands
