Marketing Manager

£35,000 to £60,000 / Newcastle upon Tyne / Jun 4, 2019

Our client is a truly pioneering, VC-backed Health Technology company, now entering a new and tremendously exciting phase of its development, having very recently secured significant Series A funding to accelerate its growth to a long term sales target of £1.5bn, marketing a suite of early diagnostic tests via insurers and an ecosystem of partners.  It’s an amazing time to join a company with incredible potential to improve the lives of many millions of people globally, playing a key role in its development as Marketing Manager.

A key member of a highly experienced, lean and visionary management team aiming to transform lives by diagnosing disease early, the role is responsible for shaping and developing the company’s reputation, raising awareness of its objectives and increasing the companies visibility to investors, partners and, ultimately, customers, ensuring all marketing material is in line with brand identity
 
Reporting to the CEO/CCO your responsibilities as Marketing Manager will include: 
  • Develop strategies and tactics to promote the company and its vision
  • Build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of online and offline marketing channels
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from idea to execution managing all creative aspects of marketing initiatives, dealing with marketing/PR/digital agencies and generally ensuring that the company is as externally visible as possible
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis
  • Produce valuable and engaging website content and blog to attracts and convert target companies, audiences, clinicians, scientists, patients and the public
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors
  • Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely
  • Develop, oversee and approve marketing material, from website banners to hard copy brochures and case studies
  • Involvement in the production and placing of publications in academic journals
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
  • Analyse consumer behaviour, adjusting email and marketing campaigns accordingly
 
As Marketing Manager you’ll be/need:
  • A successful, forward-thinking and hands-on Marketing Manager experience handling multiple marketing channels, ideally in a science, life sciences or diagnostics environment, with a real desire to make a positive impact on the world
  • Able to turn creative ideas into effective projects
  • BSc/MSc degree in Marketing or related field (or equaivalent), CIM qualification advantageous
  • Able to effectively communicate complex ideas, both orally and in writing, quickly understanding complex products and routes to market
  • Demonstrable passion for marketing and writing
  • Good organisational, IT and administrative skills – use of tools such as Google (Analytics, Adwords) and LinkedIn and software such as Adobe
  • Flexibility to travel, possibly outside of normal working hours
 
Additionally desirable:
  • Experience in commercial product launch in the healthcare and/or health insurance industries
  • Experience with generating clinical demand from hospital-based physicians for new in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) tests
  • Clear understanding of the UK healthcare or health insurance industries
  • Good understanding of the subject of medical devices, in particular, invitro diagnostics.
  • A clean UK driving licence

Salary range: up to £45,000 (Manager level experience) OR up to £60,000 (Executive level experience)
