Grant Writer (Contract)

Our client is a truly pioneering, VC-backed Health Technology company, now entering a new and tremendously exciting phase of its development, having very recently secured significant Series A funding to accelerate its growth to a long term sales target of £1.5bn. 

It’s an amazing time to support a company with incredible potential to improve the lives of many millions of people globally, playing a key role in securing future funding, collaborating directly with relevant public bodies and other organisations, often on large scale projects, as a highly-skilled Grant Writer.

In this newly created role focussed on developing and securing grant funding, being a strategically important member of an experienced, lean and visionary team, as Grant Writer your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and securing funding for remarkable, often highly technical business ideas
  • Finding and selecting relevant grants
  • Collating and assimilating complex data and information to write winning grant application 'stories' – high impact, eloquent, engaging and evocative professional narratives to capture assessors’ imaginations
  • Administration of the application process, including communication associated with each grant and the relevant funding body
  • Regular, ongoing cooperation with a variety of specialist individuals and teams including Scientific, Finance and Marketing
  • Developing an efficient and effective grant writing function
As Grant Writer you will need:
  • Extensive, recent and successful grant writing experience coupled with exceptional general communication skills.  You’ll very likely have recently/currently held a role such as Grant Writer, Research Grant Writer, Grant Applications Manager, Technical Report Writer or Proposal Writer
  • To be able to demonstrate a strong record of successful bid delivery and have an impressive bid / delivery ratio
  • Qualification to degree level or above in Scientific (or related) discipline with experience of working in a scientific, technology-oriented commercially focussed environment
  • Experience of work on large scale collaborative projects and with organisations such as the National Physics Laboratory, Innovate UK and NHS
  • High motivation, excellent organisation skills with outstanding levels of creativity and persuasive ability
  • An innovative, inquisitive, cooperative and detail focussed approach
