Our client is a small group of service companies that, together, turn over c.£15m and operate principally in the healthcare sector – a well-established business that’s experienced a challenging trading period and is in the process of being turned around by a strong and experienced new CEO, fully supported by its key stakeholders.  It’s looking to recruit a Temporary Financial Analyst for c.2m to a position that has good potential to be made permanent for the right candidate.

With the company having identified a need to strengthen the accounting function, to improve its financial position and ensure its owner, investors, leaders and managers have a fairer and more accurate picture of its current and ongoing health, as Temporary Financial Analyst you will:

  • Understand and analyse key income streams and the Sales/Debtors Ledger
  • Investigate account balances with a view to improving the integrity of information relating to areas like cash allocation and invoicing
  • Aggregate data and take a suitable overview where applicable
  • When appropriate, take corrective action, including some credit control, settling outstanding payments and write offs
  • Use your skills to contribute to the development of the friendly Finance team, its systems and processes

As Temporary Financial Analyst you’ll need:
  • Strong recent experience in a similar role Financial Analyst type role – Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar – perhaps including Sales/Debtors Ledger and/or Credit Control projects
  • Attention to detail – a forensic, investigative approach to ensuring completeness, accuracy, validity and existence of financial information
  • Practical knowledge gained in healthcare potentially advantageous
  • Qualified, Part Qualified, AAT or QBE
  • An organised, methodical approach – patient and persistent, sensitive and customer-oriented
  • Strong Excel, Office and Sage skills
  • Ideally, an interest in a permanent role of broader scope, together with the skills and knowledge to carry that out
