Business Development Manager

Our client is a forward thinking and growing North-East based software development house – an expert team of specialist software architects that deliver bespoke solutions from simple web presence to complex applications to organisations across the UK, and beyond, transforming and supporting their business. We’re looking to recruit a Business Development Manager, mainly to assist with the growth of new business, finding and converting prospects into new clients.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you main tasks as Business Development Manager will be:

  • Winning business, actively prospecting to find at least 50% of new business sales opportunities
  • Responding to inbound enquiries and progressing all the sales through a rigorous process
  • Qualifying opportunities thoroughly, maintaining a complete prospect list and accurate sales forecast
  • Providing efficient and effective hand-over to the delivery teams
  • Visiting customers, meeting prospects, attending networking events and being the face of the business

As Business Development Manager, you'll need:

  • Strong experience in new business focussed Business Development Manager role, likely to be gained in a 20-50 person agency type company, winning £50k+ projects and exceeding sales targets
  • Experience/knowledge of the Software Development market
  • Some understanding of marketing
  • A degree or equivalent experience
  • A confident, creative, communicative, can do approach
  • Self motivated, highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and office applications
