Financial Controller

Dynamic, rapidly growing and highly ambitious service business requires progressive Financial Controller to join its senior management team and lead its highly talented finance function. 

Focused on achieving business goals and with the opportunity to make a valuable contribution, you’ll be responsible for driving profitability and securing required funding whilst supporting colleagues and customers.

As Financial Controller you’ll control and manage daily operations, reporting and transactions enabling improved business decision-making. 

Your duties will include:

  • Leading a team delivering project accounting, management reporting, financial accounting and decision making information
  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting
  • Review, co-ordinate and present monthly management information with functional leaders, liaising effectively at all times to improve performance and governance
  • Managing the business planning process
  • Maintaining procedures and systems of internal control, protection of assets and quality of financial records.
  • Leading on appraising investment proposals
  • Maintaining positive working relationships internally and with relevant clients, ensuring performance and recovering income
  • Leading, inspiring and developing the finance team
  • Ensuring strong governance and compliance with relevant internal, statutory, regulatory and technical accounting standards
  • Proactively managing business and financial risk

As Financial Controller, you’ll need:

  • A proven track record of success and relevant skills and knowledge gained in a similar lead/senior Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Head of Finance type role – fundraising/Corporate Finance and/or technology sector experience advantageous but not essential
  • Qualified ACA, ACMA, ACCA or similar
  • The ability to inspire others – including influencing and positively challenge business leaders
  • Significant experience in managing stakeholders, including conflict resolution
